Taku Obata Bust a Move at JONATHAN LEVINE GALLERY

I went to see the opening night of Mr.Taku Obata's first solo exhibit at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in Chelsea, New York.

I was amazed by his dynamic wooden sculptures of b-boys, break dancers with styles.

They are unique and show how Obata has a precise understanding of how we bust a move!

The life size sculptures poses the complete breakdance battle with very bright color jumpsuits and I was overwhelmed by his wood carving techniques and perfection.

FEIT store opening

FEIT is opening its first New York retail store. Please join us for a private viewing on November 19th from 6 - 9 pm, corner of Prince and Bowery. The design of the space is a collaborative effort between Tull Price and interactive artist Jordana Maisie titled Raw Elements of Construction. The space is made up of raw materials that represent the FEIT ethos and process - Baltic birch, concrete, raw timber, and hanging leathers are featured. Upon entering the store, cascading planes emerge from the existing architecture and a split-level display showcases the FEIT collection.  As I have mentioned before that I am really into GOLD on anything these days. Don't get me wrong, any GOLD would not necessary work for me. BAMFORD did it though. This time they came up with matte GOLD, not blacked out watch finish.....This is a beautiful pieces to wear. Damn.....matte GOLD..... beautiful. well done.

Saturdays Surf Nagoya open

An accomplishment for any brand, Saturdays NYC has opened its fifth location in Nagoya, Japan. The 1,485 square-foot store, which will be the third Japanese location for the New York-based lifestyle brand, opened its doors in early October. Situated in Nagoya’s fashionable Sakae neighborhood, the store consists of two levels. The first level is complete with an upfront espresso bar, surfboard rack, and a carefully curated selection of art books. The expansive second level stocks the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, lifestyle accessories, surf gear, and artwork. To add some uniqueness to the storefront, Saturdays commissioned friend and designer Devon Turnbull of OJAS to create a one-of-a-kind speaker that hangs from the ceiling. On the second story, a massive window provides the whitewashed space with an abundance of natural light, creating a sun-drenched feel by day and moonlit ambiance by night.
